Subject:      FILL: INTRO: bio of me

As usual I am doing everything backwords.  I read the FAQ after I had
replied to some messages and found out that you all might like an
introduction.  So now that I just burst on in I guess I will right the
furniture, straighten my clothes and introduce myself.

Hi!  I'm roach and I'm a writer.  Until about 3 years ago I thought such an
admission would be akin to some one admitting they cheated on their taxes
and got away with it (i.e. they are admired for their daring but no one
would approve of it).  Of course until 3 years ago I was living in Worland,
WY where literature is the Billings Gazette (I know that might sound harsh
but try living there for 18 years).  Anywho I went off to college and
discovered that writing isn't such a bad thing but it still took 2 more
years to figure out that is what I want to do w/my life.

Which brings me here, sorta.

I write short stories (mostly) of the fantasy, science fiction, horror and
speculative fiction genres (and some that are unclassifiable).  I have had
two of my stories published.  I have just recently resurected my dream of
having my books published and so one is in the final stages of editing and
query letters for that have been sent out (if anyone has sample query
letters and advice on synopsis I would greatly appreciate it...I'm having a
terrible time w/both of them).  I just finished the second one and will
start on the 3rd after I finish this editing session.  And as always I am
pounding away at my short stories.  I belong to one writer's workshop but it
deals solely w/story critiques and not so much w/technique or the submission
process or any of the other mundane aspects of writing.
