Date: Tue, 18 Feb 1997 13:28:28 -0500 From: Paul Frankenstein Subject: Fill: BIO (mine, so shouldn't that be Fill: AUTOBIO?) Having been on this list a few weeks and done my fair share of lurking, commenting, and spreading the word of the Spam culture, I should probably introduce myself. Yes, Frankenstein is my real name. I live in New York City, on the Upper West Side (where all writers in Manhattan are required to live by law, unless you're really, really rich in which case you can get an exemption to live on the Upper East Side, or unless you can prove that you qualify as part of the 'downtown' scene [the test for that involves ingesting large quantities of controlled substances whilst wearing black; being in a Nan Goldin picture helps]), a few blocks from where John Lennon was shot (he just *had* to die on my birthday, too). Like many people my age (I'm one of these disaffected, bitter, cynical so-called Generation-Xers; if you ever feel that I'm not being cynical and/or bitter enough, please drop me a line and I'll get on it right away), I am massively over-educated for my current paying job (career temp). On the other hand, the only thing a BA in Oriental Studies really qualifies you for is graduate school, and I don't want to do that just yet. In my spare time (which I seem to have a lot of these days), I look for better-paying jobs, wade through the mail from WRITERS, figure out new and creative ways to borrow money from people (and/or find ways to avoid paying the money back), and write for a episodic web drama (aka cybersoap, a term that I don't like [the word itself is fine; it just really doesn't describe what I'm writing very well]) called Big Town . I'm a lousy poet; I don't like to eat spam (though it is pretty funny on a conceptual level); I voted for Bill Clinton last fall; I'm single and will probably stay that way for a while; I have a bad habit of stating opinion as fact; and there are only six sentences in this bio. paul -------- paulf | Wilmer: Keep on riding me.
