I have been lurking (I can lurk like a pro if I put my mind to it), and I am enjoying this list immensely. I plan to stay around for a while, so I might as well join the fun. A native of Wisconsin, I moved to Texas in 1990. Now, I'm sort of a Cheesehead Texan-- or Texas Cheesehead, depending on the day. This March, I packed in my job as a lawyer, got married, and started writing full time. My husband is a consultant who travels constantly. I go with him, and don't you dare think that I don't know how lucky I am. Have been in Minneapolis since July, for example, and we'll be here at least another month. By that time, the Hubster will be praying to go back to Dallas where it's warm. In fact, he's already started. I like to read (big suprise there, eh?), play darts, cook, rollerblade, and hang out with friends-- the last usually done in bars. I like music (almost all types, but especially 'alternative', opera, classic rock and classical). I'm a big time, life long Packer Fan. I also like soccer, baseball (Go Rangers!), and hockey. I hate basketball. This summer I have written several short stories (SF and mystery), essays, and some (mostly bad) poetry, and am also working on My Very First Novel. I've always loved to write, but, aside from the occasional poem, I was unable to do so while I was working. Perhaps it was the type of work I was doing. Maybe it was the long hours. Whatever the cause, I just couldn't do it. I heartily admire anyone who works full time and is able to write as well. There are quite a few of you on this list who fit that description, and you have my respect. In spades. I took the Jung test, and discovered that I am an INTP. Actually, I already knew this courtesy of the Catholic church and its obligatory Marriage Encounter Weekend. However, inspired by folks on this very list, I hopped on the WWW for verification. I was able to discover that I share my personality traits (some of which are, apparently, rather annoying) with one percent of the population. Famous INTPs: Einstein, Socrates, Descartes, Newton, Pascal, William James, and Jung himself. I think this is cool, so I read on. Bob Newhart. Great! I like him. Brent Spiner a/k/a Data. I am slightly confused, but pretty sure they mean the man, not the character. I read on. Rick Moranis. Well.... The Full House twins!?! Oh boy. Well, I'm sure that's far more than you good folks wanted to know, so I'll stop now. I've learned a lot from this list in the last couple of weeks. I am certain that I will learn more.
