I like what you've done with the place, and I'm glad to find my booth in the back corner unoccupied, if a bit dusty. For the rest of you, I am the legendary Corwin, Prince of Amber, of whom you've probably heard absolutely nothing. I stride through the Shadows, wielding the power of the Pattern, which is my birthright, struggling along the trail to the throne of the one true city: Amber. If you bought that, please hit the delete key now. ;) Actually, I'm Dave Lodge, a somewhat over-educated webmaster with delusions of grandeur. I first joined the list back in either late 1991 or early 1992 (I think. Perhaps the list's old farts can correct my failing memory here...). I've been a member of the list, off and on, ever since, through college and a failed experiment called grad school, and on into my professional life. I mostly write science fiction and fantasy short stories, although a story I've been wrestling with for several years is currently threatening to become much more... I was married on December 28, 1996, to Myloe Wilson, who I've known for over eleven years and dated off and on for seven before the wedding. Shortly after that, we left our lives in Austin, Texas to start a new existence in Oklahoma. If you've seen the movie Twister, you know what that life must be like on a daily basis. ;) Just this week, I got an offer for THE JOB, the one I've been dreaming of for years. I will be telecommuting, doing web design and development from my home for the company I used to work for back in Austin. It's this wonderful turn of events that has me deluded into thinking I can handle the ungodly flow of email this list generates on a daily basis. But enough about me... I'll just sit her quietly in my booth with my ever-full pint of stout. From time to time I may call one of you over for a few words, crits about your submissions, praise for your achievements, etc. Occasionally, I may have a bit too much to drink, prompting me to jump up and make a total ass of myself, but such occasions are rare and are better left ignored. -corwin, take nothing I say seriously. Really. I mean it. -- ********************************************************* * Corwin of Amber * Non illegitimi carborundam * * corwin@dingir.org * http://www.dingir.org * ********************************************************* "I am the soul of honor, kindness, mercy, and goodness.
