Distance Learning Opportunities

The Center for Advanced Educational Services is a leader in distance learning, leveraging the growing capabilities of computer and telecommunication technologies. These include interactive multimedia, the Internet, the World Wide Web, videoconferencing, satellite TV, as well as more mature delivery mechanisms such as videotapes and books. We offer a variety of off-campus programs, both credit and non-credit, designed to meet the evolving needs of undergraduate, graduate, and professional learners. 
Tuition is based on the type of academic credit provided. See the specific course description to determine the relevant information for any particular course or offering.

Delivery Modes

The MIT Learning Networks allow for a range of participation options, from entirely asynchronous, independent learning to entirely synchronous, group based learning. See specific course descriptions for more information about delivery options for that program. Most courses are multi-modal; they employ several delivery modes so that some participation is asynchronous and some is synchronous.
