Kush R. Varshney |
|
Kush R. Varshney was born in Syracuse, New York in 1982. He received the B.S. degree magna cum laude in electrical and computer engineering with honors from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, in 2004. He received the S.M. degree in electrical engineering and computer science in 2006 and is now pursuing the Ph.D. degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge. He is a research assistant with the Stochastic Systems Group in the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and has been a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. He was an intern in the Systems and Decision Sciences Section at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, California in 2009. He was a visiting student at Laboratoire de Mathématiques Appliquées aux Systèmes at École Centrale, Paris in 2006. He was an intern at Sun Microsystems, Burlington, Massachusetts during 2002-2003 and at Sensis Corporation, DeWitt, New York in 2001. His research interests include statistical signal processing, image formation, image processing, and machine learning. Mr. Varshney is a member of Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi and ISIF, a graduate student member of the IEEE, and a student member of SIAM. |
