I'm appearing this evening on the WMBR (MIT radio, 88.1 FM) program "Dinnertime Sampler", which features interviews with and playlists by various members of the MIT community. The show airs 6-7 PM and is streamed online; the stream should also be archived for at least a couple of weeks. (29 Mar 06)
The documentary Wordplay, about Will Shortz, the New York Times crossword puzzle, and the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament, is part of this year's Independent Film Festival of Boston. It will be showing at the Somerville Theatre on Thursday, April 20, at 8:30 PM, and at the Brattle Theatre on Saturday, April 22, at 6:30 PM. The movie is at least as much behind the people who construct, solve, and compete over crosswords as about the puzzles themselves; even non-solvers should find it compelling. Go see! (27 Mar 06)
