PowerPoint Web Converter This utility, created in Visual Basic, draws heavily from a program written by Fred Videon at the University of Washington. It allows you to specify a PowerPoint file and export ordered lists of .gif and .wav files (and to specify dimensions on the images). This is used for conversion of MS PowerPoint presentations to Web lectures at MIT (EECS and ME departments). The motivation is obvious for anyone who has witnessed the disorganized numbering sequences created by a standard PowerPoint Web export. Thanks to Prof. Tomas Lozano-Perez of EECS for his help in creating this.

Digital Library of MIT Theses An MIT Libraries project to digitally archive selected (not comprehensive) MIT theses. Though I don't have anything to do with the project itself (save the inclusion the above two theses), I encourage all to add their own work to the collection, and to utilize it for research purposes. Quoting Kundera (The Unbearable Lightness of Being, p103):
If students are going to earn degrees, they've got to come up with dissertation topics. And since dissertations can be written about everything under the sun, the number of topics is infinite. Sheets of paper covered with words pile up in archives sadder than cemeteries, because no one ever visits them, not even on All Soul's Day.
