Definitions of Terms for the Endowment: Visitor Fees: The portion of fees paid by visitors that go beyond maintenance and the support of the activities so visited. Membership Fee: This is the initial payment to start being a member, not regular membership dues. Gifts and Grants: Moneys given the organization by people interested in seeing it grow and succeed. Stock Market: Stock shares of reasonable amounts of risk. Accruement Fund: Bonds or Money Market mutual funds for reliable and medium interest long-term savings. Charity Fund: Money earmarked for local community improvement or supporting external programs with charitable goals. Unrestricted Fund: Money that may be used any way that the council approves. Improvement Fund: Money for making the Center a better place (such as capital expenses). Maintenance Fund: This is specifically a fund for lowering membership dues below what they would need to be to support the Center. Growth Fund: Money that will go toward making the Center have a larger sphere or developing new or better Centers based on the same principles.
