About Me Research Academics Fun

  Bio

I am currently a Ph.D. student in Vivek Goyal's Signal Transformation and Signal Representation (STIR) group in the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE). I have been at MIT since the fall of 2007 and am interested in topics related to information theory, signal processing and inference. My S.M. thesis was on finding fundamental limits of performance for compressed sensing in quantization and inference frameworks.

I graduated in 2007 from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (summa cum laude with honors). At Cornell, I worked in Professor Lang Tong's Adaptive Communications and Signal Processing group studying sensor networks, autonomous vehicles and dynamic spectrum analysis.

I also interned at NVIDIA Corp in Santa Clara, CA for two summers working on graphics chips and was a Researcher in Residence at HP Labs studying image matting.

When not taking classes or doing research, I enjoy being involved in various organizations on campus. I am currently the Co-President of the MIT EECS Graduate Student Association and an EECS REF. I am also a photographer for the Tech. Previously, I served as the Inventory chair in the Sidney-Pacific Graduate Residence (2008-09) and as president of the Kappa chapter of Eta Kappa Nu (2006-07).

I enjoy basketball, volleyball, movies, indie music, and debating.
