Eric and Johanna's Wedding
FAQ Index
Hotel Information has its own
page. (Reservations must be placed by May 16.)
When is the wedding?
The wedding is on May 28th
(thank you Rich for pointing out the lack of date) at 1pm.
Where is the wedding?
Go to the directions page!
What is happening after the wedding?
Following the wedding, there will be a
Potluck Dinner and Dance Reception!
at the Springstep Center for Traditional and Contemporary Arts
When?
6:30-11:30PM
Where?
In Medford, immediately off Rte 93. See directions.
Who?
Everyone who's invited to the wedding, and special musical guests Einstein's Little Homunculus!
What?
A potluck dinner, dancing, and general festiveness!
A potluck dinner?
Yes. The potluck is being most generously pre-organized by Carolyn
Croissant ( gelflinggirl @ gmail . com ). We have set up a website
(courtesy Jude Shabry) which you can reach here.
Feel free to contact Carolyn, preferably earlier than later (either if
you know exactly what you would like to bring, but want to make sure
we don't already have 5 of it; or if you are looking for ideas). Each
person should bring a dish for 10-15 people. Visitors from out of
town should not feel obliged to bring food, though of course you are
welcome to do so if you wish.
We will be supplying several entrees, paper goods, and some drinks.
Anything that you would like to bring will be wonderful by us, but we
especially encourage home-made, vegetarian-friendly food,.
One special request: if you do bring something home-made, please also
consider bringing the recipe for the dish. This serves two purposes:
1) it will allow those with dietary restrictions to determine what
they can and can not eat; and, 2) we would love to collate the recipes
into a book of wedding memories. Bringing a recipe for the dish that
you make, and participating joyfully and exuberantly in eating and
dancing during the evening would be as much of a gift as we could ever
want from anyone!
Do I need to know how to dance?
After dinner, caller Leslie Lassiter will be teaching and leading
30-45 minutes of contra dancing. Since we have teaching, anyone who
is interested should be able to participate! After that will just be
free-form dancing to elh's music, and then our own mix from the iPod,
until it's time to clean up and go home.
How do I get there?
Directions are printed on the back of the directions to the Music
Hall. You are encouraged to carpool if possible, since parking is
somewhat limited.
What should I wear?
(Miss Manners is going to smack us for this, but) attire for the day is
"festive!" We're going to be dressed formally (it's our wedding, and
we think dressing up is fun) but we want our guests to be comfortable
as well as festive. Please feel free to dress up as much as you want.
Since Springstep is a dance studio, it would be good if your shoes
had non-marking soles and were brushed free of grit (we will provide a brush),
as well as being comfy to dance in.
Dramatis Personae
Where are we registered?
We have set up registries in order to give ideas to those people who
feel that they must give us Things as gifts. However, we would suggest
that everyone consider their potluck contribution as their wedding
gift to us; your participation in this communal event means as much to
us as any gift you could bring. (If you haven't read the reception information yet, you should really do
so before spending any time looking at our registries.)
When must hotel reservations be made by?
In order to get the reduced rate, reservations must be placed by May 16th.
