Lamsonites' favorite fun classes @ MIT...
21M.700 - Intro to Acting.
Fun, stress-relieving, some (but very little) work. - Mandy
Hess
10.02J/5.22J/BEH.some other number -
Spring only. A low work, fun, group effort class that counts for the BME
minor. Be part of a "company" that will research & bring to market a
pharmaceutical. - Mandy Hess
8.04 - Quantum
Physics ! - Terri "crazy" Yu
15.401 - besides ur 15.279 which i agree is very easy and
quite fun is 15.401 which i think is quite easy and immensly useful for anyone
who has heard of stocks and bonds but know little else about them... my fav
class at MIT! - Neeti
15.279 - This class isn't very hard, and one of the sections
gives out 60% A's. Recommended for the laziest of students. -Jeff
Braun
21H.104J /11.0?? - Riots Strikes and Conspiracies.
- Ehren Foss
Pros: A very
well thought out, skillfully run class.
Cons:
In-class discussions are only good when professor is talking because nobody
did the reading. Also, professors give off an initial impression of
foppishness, and this leads students to believe there is no content to what
they're teaching. Give it a chance.
21M.740
- Stagecraft, the mech-e HASS. - Jeff Klann
Pros: Very laid-back class where you chill with cool people and learn
to build stuff in a scenery shop (read: power tools), including a final project.
You also paint.
Cons: You
learn to sew. And you have to do a few hours of slave work for them for credit.
Expect a B.
9.06 - was one of my favorite classes here, though I
don't think it's offered in the spring. It was cool because we had neat
readings on humanity/nature, with mini-writeups due that didn't take much work
but forced us to actually read the papers. Then the coolest part was the
dozen or so students -- we got to have cool discussions with only minimal
prompting from the professor. Highly recommended.
