Elisa Birdseye

Executive Director and violist

Elisa Birdseye, Executive Director of the Boston Chamber Ensemble, started playing the viola at the age of nine, studying at the Georgia Academy of Music with Manuel Díaz and serving four years as principal violist of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. In Boston, she studied at the New England Conservatory of Music with Burton Fine and Marcus Thompson. In addition to being an active free lancer, she has held the positions of assistant principal violist of the New England Philharmonic and General Manager of the Boston Musica Viva. She has played solo recitals in several locations throughout Boston, in California, and in the Palffy Palace, Bratislava, Slovakia. She has been featured on WCRB's New England Concert Halls and twice on WGBH's Off The Record.
