My final project will be to decide what cheap, fuel efficient hatchback to buy.

My car has no air conditioning and since it got caught in a flood I can't downshift to second anymore. I need to buy a new car and want one that's cheap, small enough to park, and can hold four people or lots of stuff. I will compare prices and gas mileage for different hatchbacks to decide which to buy. I will use Consumer Reports magazine, http://www.edmunds.com and http://www.automotive.com for references.
