Hansori, meaning a unified or a great voice in Korean, is a group of
MIT Korean undergraduate and graduate
students with a deep enthusiasm for finding their identity through
learning and sharing their culture and history. Hansori's activities include study of
modern Korean history, publication
of its own magazines, installation of
Korean softwares on Athena, sponsoring Poong Mool,
and Korean Music Initiative (KMI). Most recently,
with the help from MIT International Science and Technology Initiative (MISTI),
we have embarked on a new mission to create an internship program called the
MIT-Korea Program. The program will open up new opportunities for all MIT
students to take advantage of. All of these activities are aimed at the eventual contribution
to the formation of a more harmonious and culturally-richer community
at MIT. The group received official recognition in spring 1994.
