Young Prince Pericles of Tyre doesn’t set out looking for trouble – he sets out looking for
a wife. Soon, he is fleeing for his life across the Mediterranean pursued by a servant of
the incestuous King of Antioch, who wants him dead. The paths he and his loved ones tread
spiderweb across the sea, peril never far behind. But, with the aid of kings, lords,
nuns, fishermen, pirates and prostitutes, the horrors of death, famine, lost loves,
attempted murder, and worm-killing don’t prove quite so intimidating. One of Shakespeare's
late romances, this is the story of Pericles' journey of self-discovery and the colorful
characters he meets along the way.
