My friend John Tchoe asked me some questions about quantum mechanics and the uncertainty principle. At first I tried to answer him with a non-technical hand waving explanation. He asked so many questions about the non-technical explanation that I decided to do the subject justice I would have to write a semi-technical explanation. I am publishing the explanation on my web site in the hope that it will be useful to other people as well. I have written a semi-technical explanation of the basics of quantum mechanics and how it relates to the Uncertainty Principle. My intended audience is people who have a reasonable understanding of integral and differential calculus. The explanation is available in HTML format and PDF.
