The docks are several days' walk from New Galen. Fortunately, the trail into town is well-marked, so most new settlers can easily find their way.

New settlers have to brave the walk from the docks to New Galen by themselves. Often, some settlers will come out to escort the new settlers in, but of course, an established settler and a brigand are probably indistinguishable at first sight...
