Phrases

So, the thing I was going to suggest for Okian `flavor' is basically a glossary of Okian terms. Abel's been using these more or less all along, although he sometimes uses the Galenese conventions for clarity. I've been meaning to put together a list from various sources, but here's what comes to mind right now:

Kami all spirits are kami, although typically only used as a title for Greater Spirits.
Mikokami minor spirits of almost everything. rocks, trees, streams, and, perhaps most importantly, ancestors. As `Kami' is typically only used as a title for the Greater Spirits, Mikokami is typically only used as a title for what the gaijin call `Lesser Spirits'.
kansen evil spirits. kansen are minor spirits of mischief, malevolence , and corruption; they often seek to turn people to evil via maho.
Shugenja magic-user, for `normal magic'. Wizard and Seer are almost always Shugenja, as are Shamen. Shugenja cast spells, which are somewhat distinct from kiho and maho (see below). In general, though shugenja is `spellcaster'.
Maho Necromancy (literally `blood magic'). Technically, not all maho is necromancy, but the use of maho, regardless of the effect, leads to corruption and necromancy.
Maho-Tsukai necromancer (literally `servant of blood magic')
Tsukai-sagasu necromancer-hunters
Kiho magic formed through focusing of personal chi. Monks and shaman of clan Jentung typically use Kiho instead of spells. If things work out as I hope, there will be more on this later.
Gaijin not Okian, of course.
-san honorific. People in the Frontier will almost certainly use `relaxed' rules for this. Sex-neutral.
-sama higher honorific. see `-san'. Also sex-neutral.

Here's some stuff that dave looked up:
mouko fierce tiger
ryuuko, ryouko dragon and tiger
tora tiger
doragon dragon
taka hawk
yoippari, yotaka nighthawk
