Notes:
The Heavenly Spirits of Creation created the Greater Spirits, the heavens, and Areth. Areth, when first created, was but a simple watery world without land. Once this was all done, the Supreme Spirits departed. To where they went, or why, no one knows. Sages generally agree that not even the Greater Spirits know why the Supreme Spirits left, or to even where they went.
The sudden departure of the Supreme Spirits disrupted the Harmony of the heavens. As time progressed, each of the Greater Spirits took up more responsibility for all of Creation; first was Amatsu-Mika-Boshi (Anadem), who took care of the stars.
Umashiashikabihikoji and Amanotokotachi-no-Kami, saddened by the lack of harmony, attempted to escape the discord by continuing Creation. It was they who created the first Divine Couple, Izanagi and Izanami, who helped in the creation of land on Areth. A passage describes them in this manner: "As Izanagi and Izanami stood on the Heavenly floating bridge -- a rainbow -- and gazed at Areth below, they aimed the sacred jewelled spear into the ocean below, and stirring the waters, they then lifted up the spear and lo! -- the drops of dew fell from the tip and as they fell formed the islands of Okia." Once this was done, Umashiashikabihikoji and Amanotokotachi-no-Kami also departed Creation; whether they joined the Supreme Spirits is unknown.
With the complete departure of the Heavenly Spirits, the Greater Spirits continued to take up responsibilities in Creation and Areth. However, the One Who Is Not Named, for his own reason, took to a different Way. Perhaps distraught with the departure of the Heavenly Spirits, the One Who Is Not Named introduced evil to Areth, which continues to plague the descendents of Izanagi and Izanami.
The Emperor of Okia lineage can be traced directly to Izanagi and Izanami.

For instance, instead of the N spirits (Darteem, Kell, None, Anadem), we
could instead have local Okian names for them. The idea is to reproduce
what the Okian seers determined in the dawn of time before coming into
contact with other races. "Ah, yes, the story of the birth of Kell. Well,
you haven't heard that story properly until you've heard it in the original
Okian." Not to mention that there can be subtle differences in the
stories, but that will probably happen through happy circumstance in just
writing the stories.
I'm not much of a creative writer (not to mention that I don't have the
list of Greater Spirits handy), so maybe someone could take this project
up. Otherwise, I may just take one of the legends I read and mangle to
make it fit.
Likewise, we could have the Okian version of the Creation Of Areth story.
Naturally, the creation of the Okian Islands before all else should figure
prominently. :)
I think the best example of high epic would be stuff like Creation stories.
It would be interesting to have a "local" set of legends that map closely
to the already-established Greater and Lesser Spirits.
