Welcome to OCS.

And that is the beauty of a 'suit: you don't have to think about it. You don't have to drive it, fly it, conn it, operate it; you just wear it and it takes orders directly from your muscles and does for you what your muscles are trying to do. This leaves you with your whole mind free to notice what is going on around you... which is supremely important to a grunt who wants to die in bed. If you load a mud foot down with a lot of gadgets that he has to watch, somebody a lot more simply equipped -- say with a stone axe -- will sneak up and bash his head in while he is trying to read a vernier.

Welcome to the Society for Interactive Killing. We run SIK games. You may have played in a few, and wondered, "huh, how do I do better?".

Same way you get to Carnegie Hall.

Practice.

The Defense Department regrets to inform you that your sons died because they were stupid.
Don't let this happen to you.

Phyraxian Dominions banner The point of this game is to teach squad-level skills for SIK games. Note that there are lots of squad-level skills that don't involve being a commander, so even if you have absolutely no interest in ever being a SIK squad commander, you should still consider applying. There are lots of ways to think about how 3, 4, 5, 12, or 16 people should work together. Theory is wonderful, but it never works until you try it. And even then, you'll probably screw it up the first time.

That's okay; that's why we practice it a lot.

The next run of FSA:OCS will be Sunday, December 3, from 1-6pm, with an optional endgame scenario that will go until 7. Hosed by classes? Bail at 6. Want one more shot to get all this stuff down? Stay for Endgame.

Will the bad guys attack for real at the end? No; after all the raids on the FSA OCS base and the PD Academy, both sides are making damn sure no one pulls that trick again. Yes, purple headbands mean something looks like an alien, but you'll probably not see those in this game, either.

We will also do an optional Ogg Basics class on Saturday, Dec 2, time TBD. This will be no longer than an hour.

Packet Handout will be the evening of Thursday, Nov 30, time TBD.

Applications are now being accepted.
