Here are The Rules. New/changed items are in
yellow.
PD/FSA Standard Rules
We are using the PD/FSA
Standard Rules as a base set. Read 'em, love 'em.
The rest of these rules are addenda that expand or override the base rules.
Note that we have vastly simplified Guns in the Academy; see below.
Game Topography
The Academy is located in a military facility on Jambralla III-b, a
small mostly-airless moon orbiting a gas giant in the Jambralla
system. The landing field is in the basement of building 32. (Building
32 is still nominally under construction in places; obey all signs
that say you shouldn't pass a certain point.)
The main lecture hall is in 34-101. The computer core and base reactor
are in the basement of building 36.
Parts of buildings 24, 26, 34, 36, and 38 are in game. Stairwells
will be clearly marked where you can go to next.
Armor Refit Facility
The armor refit facility is located in the elevator lobby on
36-1. Armor left in the refit facility for 5 minutes is repaired to
full strength.
Guns
All shots do 1 point of damage except for Larami darts, which do 2.
No Transferring Of Guns
BASE RULESET OVERRIDE: Guns are not transferable: they are attached to your
suit and cannot be removed except by an armor refit facility. In this
game, the armor refit facility will not remove your guns.
Simulated Combat
Most combat in this game will be simulated. Fire amongst people with
green and red headbands counts for purposes of these rules with the
following exceptions:
- Armor will be repairable only by an incant of "Computer, repair all
armor in this scenario" by a PDA instructor (red headband); this repairs
all armor within voice range of the incant.
- All humans, normal or geneered, have 1 HP.
- When a human takes a hit with no armor remaining, he becomes
Incapacitated instead of Unconscious.
- Any character with a red headband can set any character within earshot
in a green headband immediately into the Incapacitated state with the
incant "Computer: Incapacitate [playername]".
Additional Health State: Incapacitated
In addition to being Conscious, Unconscious, Dying, and Dead, you can be:
- Incapacitated: When a character reaches 0 HP in a simulation, they
are Incapacitated by mechanisms in their power armor. They may talk if
they like, but they may not move. Any human in instructor armor may
silence all Incapacitated characters within voice range by calling out
the incant "Silence!". If you are Silenced and Incapacitated, you may
not speak either. Incapacitated characters can be restored to
Conscious by a human in instructor armor in contact with the armor
calling out the incant "Armor unlock". (Incapacitated instructors may
unlock their own armor, assuming they are not Silenced.)
