 The
Department of Chemistry has joined in MIT's resolve to be at the forefront
of developing new technologies for an environmentally sustainable future.
Current research topics include green chemistry, atmospheric chemistry,
studies on the effect of environmental agents on human health, and the development
of environmentally friendly methods for chemical synthesis. Our department
is committed to fostering a multidisciplinary research atmosphere and many
chemistry faculty members with interests in the environment and sustainability
are associated with the Center for
Environmental Health and Safety and the
Laboratory for Energy and the Environment.
