The Department Headquarters Office is located on the third floor of the Dreyfus Building (Building 18-393) and provides administrative, financial, and human resources support for the department. The Chemistry Education Office is located on the second floor of Building 6 (6-205). The Education Office oversees the undergraduate and graduate programs including course management and graduate admissions.

For maps of MIT, see the MIT Campus Map.

The buildings that make up the Chemistry Department are located near Memorial Drive and Ames Street. They are within a short walk of the Kendall/MIT subway station on the east end of campus.

There are both on- and off-street parking sites near the MIT campus, but most public parking is not very close to the center of the MIT campus. The closest fee-based parking lot is at 4 Cambridge Center on the corner of Ames Street and Broadway.

Reaching MIT from Logan Airport
The subway ride from Logan requires two transfers. A shuttle bus to the Blue Line subway station serves every terminal at Logan. Take the Blue Line to Government Center and transfer to the Green Line to Park Street. At Park Street take the Red Line outbound towards Alewife to the Kendall/MIT station. The ride will normally take about a half-hour and costs $1.

Taxi fare from the airport is about $20. During non-rush hour, the taxi ride will take about 15 minutes. During rush hour, the ride can require 30-45 minutes.

Reaching MIT from South Station (Amtrak and bus service)
The easiest way to reach the MIT campus from South Station is to take the subway. The Kendall/MIT station is four stops away from South Station towards Alewife.

More information on getting to MIT is available at MIT web site at http://whereis.mit.edu/doc/getting-to-mit.html.
