Concierto de Gustavo Cerati
El sábado 5 de Agosto de 2006, Gustavo Cerati (ex-Soda Stereo) tocó en el Central Park en Nueva York! Increíble!... bueno, no tan increíble, fue parte de su gira por Estados Unidos para promocionar su nuevo disco "Ahí Vamos". Así que ahí fuimos!
El concierto fue gratis, porque fue parte de los conciertos de verano en el Summer Stage de Central Park. Ese día hacía un calorón terrible, pero la experiencia de un concierto en un parque siempre está buenísima - pusimos una mantita y armamos tipo picnic.
Pero como nada es gratis en esta vida, el precio que tuvimos que pagar fue tener que escuchar otras dos bandas: "Instituto Mexicano del Sonido" fue una terrible exposición de "música tecno experimental" (los mexicanos que estaban conmigo estaban francamente enojados porque, siendo tan malos, al menos podrían haber dejado a México fuera del nombre...). Y "Calle 13", una banda portoriqueña de reggaeton, bastante decente... pero ni la mejor banda de reggaeton del mundo vale mucho para empezar, así que...
El concierto estuvo muy bueno, y yo me había puesto a escuchar canciones de Cerati (lo cierto es que, al final del día, soy una fan de Soda...), así que se disfrutó bien...

On Saturday August 5, 2006, Gustavo Cerati played at the Central Park in NY, as part of the Summer Stage concerts. It was amazing!
Cerati is the former leader of a very famous rock & pop band, Soda Stereo, which was one the most influential and creative bands in Latin America during the 80's and most of the 90's, in what in the US is called "rock in Spanish".
The concert was free, but since nothing in life is really free, the price was we had to listen to other two bands... a terrible "experimental tecno" duo, and a reggaeton group, which was pretty decent, but... how much can you expect from reggaeton anyways? :)
Cerati's concert was fantastic; I got to listen a lot of his solo material which is really good (and I don't know that well).
And with everyone we had a great afternoon at the Central Park!
