newfloat theme for album
========================
Copyright 2003 Helmar Wieland <heldhelm@gmx.de>
License: GPLv2 or later (see COPYING)
Features:
- Very slick design (at least that's my opinion).
- Image pages have a cool thumbnail history!
- No tables.
- No formatting markup.
- Valid XHTML/CSS (only one error by the album script: images have
an illegal border=0 attribute, not my fault).
- CSS is quite advanced, thus exposes bug in most browsers.
- Links are stripped from captions and names if appropriate.
- Captions are meta description and tooltip of thumbnails.
- I'm sorry: It's impossible to center the thumbnails on the
thumbnail pages, because divs may only float left or right :(
I think CSS3 will change that.
This theme assumes the following:
- Thumbnails are 170x114, no need to specify that: Use -force
for the first run. If they are a different size they will perhaps
be stretched funny.
- The preference image_loop is true (that's the default value).
- You use a good browser and want to encourage other people to do
so, too ;)
Browserbugs:
- This theme works best in Gecko-based Browsers. Only bug encountered
so far is that links won't always get underlined if you hover them.
- Opera seems to stupid to apply width and height to the thumbnails,
thus they don't fill their space and one cannot read their names.
- Opera also doesn't like it if you "enter" a thumbnail from the right
or bottom, it won't apply the hover style for the image and name then.
- Opera does wrap inline list that become too long to fit in your window,
but only after having rendered out of the right border. Funny effect.
- Internet Explorer won't show you any of the cool hover effects.
- IE also is too stupid to wrap an inline list if it gets too long for
your screen size -> you have to scroll if there are too many subfolders.
Hope you like it!
