Besides the wide variety of academic, social, sports, and recreational
organizations resident at MIT, the Biology Department supports the
Biology Undergraduate
Student Association (BUSA). BUSA is a student-run organization
that sponsors popular social activities as well as providing academic
support to Biology undergrads. BUSA sponsors student/faculty gatherings
and seminars; runs an undergraduate tutoring program; organizes
an annual UROP Symposium, a day-long event in January at which undergraduates
present their research to fellow undergraduates and faculty; and
annually sponsors a Biology
Colloquium featuring a prominent biologist.
The Department offers a Biology Undergraduate Lounge, 68-145, where
you can relax, read, study, eat, and socialize. The Lounge also
contains an Athena mini-cluster with three Athena machines and a
printer dedicated to Biology undergraduate use, as well as extra network connections and wireless access for your laptop. See the Biology
Education Office, 68-120, for the door lock code. |
