Dear Mr. Davis,

At first I would like to thank you for your immediate reply to my

inquiry. I am really glad that I have found you.

As a student and member of a graduate school at the University of

Hamburg, Germany, I am at work on a dissertation about the current

conjuncture of architectural and urban metaphors and signatures, or, to

say it in other words, about the spatial organization of information. In

the course of my investigations the ars memoriae, often cited in context

of electronic media, has called my attention.

Two years ago I came across Robert Edgar`s Memory Theatre One.

Fascinated by the project I established contact with Robert to find out

more about it. During the last months our correspondence has developed

into a stimulating discourse on the mnemonics and their conceptual

influence on computer graphics as well as electronic media. Furthermore,

Robert has been so kind sending me the disks of MT One, and I am going

to practice and study it in the next few days. The results of this

investigation are meant to constitute a part of my dissertation.

Collecting anything written and said about MT One I would really much

like to get your review of it. As Robert has told me your review was

published in The Atlanta Art Papers in 1986. He also mentioned the site

www.mit.edu:8001/people/davis/Edgar.html. But my inquiries on the web

were not successful. The Atlanta Art Papers seem not to exist any more.

It may also be possible that they are not registered on the Web. And

your remarks on MT One on the mentioned site are not complete. So, I

have to rely on your support.

If you could send me a copy of the review (maybe as data file?) I would

be most grateful.

Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Kirsten Wagner
