Dear Ben Davis,

Thank you for your kind mail and the numerous information on your time

at MIT as well as the texts on Sky Disc and your art pieces. All this

gives me plenty of food for thought, and I will react to it in great

detail as soon as possible. I am just going to Hamburg to organize a

project with my graduate school. Probably, this will take two or three

days. So, I`ll reply to your remarks on the technological synthesis of

the ideas of McLuhan, Yates, and Barthes next week.

By the way, never thought of Otto Piene in regard to the theatrical aspect.

Only three or four months ago I have seen some works by him in the

Kunsthalle Bremen. The director of the museum who is interested in film

and video art has collected him with priority .
