The Light of Day filters down to the dusty corner of that lack of
organization once called (in a manner of speaking) an optimistic
Internet user. The subject of tonight's deliberation: "Standardization
of Web Protocol: Friend or Foe?" The panel: The Internet Mafia (from
whom you only thought you were safe). The audience: spotty.
The last incarnation of the awaypage, while a huge commercial success,
failed to generate any actual money. As a result it has decided to get
itself freeze-dried and wait for a more promising economic tide. It
lies frozen and changeless in an undisclosed location and will reemerge
after the death of the last fruit fly on earth or the destruction
following massive overflow of the Hoover Dam, whichever is sooner.
I, myself, can hardly wait.
