4-231 and 4-237 are on the third floor of building 4.
The easiest way to get to MIT is by the T. Take the Red Line to Kendall Square. If you were traveling outbound, say from BU, you'll come up on the Coop side of Main Street. Cross Main Street and continue in the same direction. If you were traveling inbound, say from Harvard, there are two places you can come up. If you can look across Main Street and see the other T entrance, just keep walking away from Main Street. If you can't, you need to walk along Main Street (keeping it on your right) until you see the two T entrances.
Now you should be walking away from Main Street. Cross the crosswalk that should be right in front of you, then keep walking straight until you get to Amherst Street. Turn right and follow it until it runs into Ames Street. Cross Ames Street and keep going straight.
You should now be in MIT itself. Anyone you meet now will probably be able to direct you to 4-231/4-237 if you get lost. Just keep going straight until a building blocks your path. Go inside, go straight for about 300 feet when you come to a large open stairway. Go up the stairs to the second floor. At the top of the stairs turn right, and walk down the hall.
Alternatively, get yourself to 77 Mass. Ave and walk up the steps. Straight ahead is a long corridor. 3/4ths of the way down that corridor will be the large open stairway described in the last paragraph.
