INFORMATION ON REVIEW QUIZ GIVEN FRIDAY, NOV. 3, 1995


NO BOOKS, NOTES, OR CALCULATORS ARE ALLOWED.

STUDENTS WILL TAKE REVIEW QUIZ 2 AT THE SAME HOUR AS THEIR FRIDAY CLASS.

Those whose last name begins with A through K will take the quiz in Rm. 26-100.

Those whose last name begins with L through Z will take the quiz in Rm. 50-340.

NOTE: 50-340 is the third floor of Walker Memorial. Please enter from the river side.

It is important that you take the quiz at the location assigned to prevent any overcrowding.

There are no make-up quizzes. A grade of zero will be assigned for unexcused missed quizzes. Excuses must be requested, in advance, from the course administrator (Prof. George Koster - Rm. 6-107, ext. 4870). Acceptable excuses will be granted for significant and verifiable medical reasons. Excuses which are not acceptable include doctor's appointments, malfunctioning alarm clocks, the advent of daylight savings time, oversleeping for any reason, travel delays or travel plans etc..

The quiz will concentrate on the physics of Units 5 and 6 but you may need knowledge of the earlier units.
If you can do all the problems in the guide, you will have no difficulty with the Review Quiz.

HELP AVAILABLE:

Your TA will review for the quiz on November 1.

Professor Walter Lewin will give a TEST REVIEW which will be shown on MIT cable TV (channel 10)*from Friday October 27, from 5:00 pm continuously day and night till Friday November 3, 5:00 pm. The program starts every hour on the hour.

*The best places to watch the cable TV (other than from the dormitories) are class rooms 4-231, 4-270 and 4-370. If there are problems with the cable TV, during the day call 3-7431 and leave a message.

Copies of the tapes can also be viewed at the Physics Reading Room (26-152); open M-F, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm and the "Reserve Room" (14N-132); open M-R 8:30 am - 11:00 pm, F 8:30 am - 7:00 pm, Saturday 11:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

As usual, there will be the weekly two-hour tutorial session on Thursday evening November 2 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in rooms 2-132 through 2-147.
