Recent Hang Gliding Events

• (4/25/00) Took a powered hang glider flight over the southwestern coast of Maui. Pictures are here!

• (5/30.99) Soared for 81 minutes at West Rutland, Vermont. Longest flight to date.

• (4/1/96) I spent a week at Wallaby Ranch in sunny Florida! Check out my Wallaby page.

• (9/30/95) I flew at Mystical Beach at Cape Cod National Sea Shore in Wellfleet, MA. It totally rocked. It was basically my first soaring flight and I stayed up for 45 minutes. My friend Lynn made me an MDA certificate to commemorate the event.

• (9/3/95) I took second place (for Hang-2 pilots) in the 1995 Ellenville Labor Day Fun Fest! It's located on Rte 209, just south of Ellenville NY. I got a little trophy and gift certificate for a new vario. I'll post a breakdown of my score and other stuff here eventually, so check back again.

• (7/9/95) I just bought a brand new glider! It's a Pacific Airwaves Formula 144. It is white with a yellow leading edge and a dark blue undersurface. Here's what it looks like!

• (6/15/95) I got my Aero-Tow Rating and have done several tows up to 2500 feet.

Or, if you live in New England, I heartily recommend Morningside Flight Park in Claremont, NH as an excellent place to learn to fly. Give Jeff Nicolay a call at 603-542-4416.

It might be a good idea to check the weather in Claremont before driving all the way up there. A good flying day at Morningside is usually when the wind direction is anywhere from southwest to northwest and less than 20 mph.
