This page uses http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/sgml/entities.html as a reference.

A character entity reference is an SGML construct that references a character of the document character set. The following presents the complete lists of character entity references.

To use any of these characters, type "&" followed by the entity name and a colon. For example, to display the word "año" in an HTML document, one would type "año".
