| Work Experience: | During summer 2012, I will be analyzing ozone and meteorological data for NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory Chemical Sciences Division as an Ernest Hollings Undergraduate Scholar. For summer 2011, I worked a UROP (undergraduate research opportunity) developing intuitive web interfaces to simulators of rotating fluid dynamics that can be used to perform experiments analogous to planetary scale atmospheric and oceanic phenomena. Over summer 2010, I worked as an intern for the Yellowstone-Teton Clean Energy Coalition through a U.S. Department of Energy program called Clean Cities. This program seeks to reduce petroleum consumption through outreach, education, and research. Throughout high school, I worked as a computer technician setting up and updating my school district's computers. |

| Education: | I plan to major in Course 12 (Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences), focusing in Atmospheric and Climate Science, and in addition will minor in Energy Studies. The combination of the atmospheric and environmental science classes with environmental policy and alternative energy courses will give me a well-rounded knowledge of the ‘climate’ sciences as well as ways to implement changes. With a background in these fields, I will gain an understanding of the interactions between humans and the environment, the projections and impacts of global climate change, and the ways to balance anthropogenic needs and desires with available natural resources. I participated in Terrascope: Mission 2013 for the first semester of my freshman year, and we traveled to Abu Dhabi to learn about carbon-neutral urban planning to complement our project related to carbon capture and sequestration. I am interested in learning more about renewable energy and also in studying the environmental impacts humans have on the natural world. |

| Biography: | Born and raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I love the outdoors and spend as much time in the natural environment as possible. At MIT, I train and compete with the triathlon club and the cycling team. I also love skiing (downhill and cross-country), hiking, and running. I am also the MIT Triathlon President and Webmaster. |
