Then we had the students design and build a web site.
The purpose of the site was to be useful to students of SHJT.
Meanwhile, we did LEGO Mindstorms®
We taught the students how to use the programming language.
We also gave some tips on other things. We assigned challenges and a deadline to the class.
In that manner they learned how to build functional robots.
In the end of the week they built robots to compete in a 6.270 style challenge.
For Shanghai Children's Palace:
We taught:
The JAVA programming language in the morning
The LEGO Mindstorms® in the afternoon.
We gave these students similar instructions and challenges as the previous school.
After the first week they competed in the same challenge as JiaoTong. For the second
week we gave them a more difficult challenge. At the end of that week they competed again.
The winner got a vegy bun.
