Archive of Tuesday night dinner parties: Year 2
We kept our second year of Tuesday dinners in full stride. Despite the
departure of Max at the end of year 2, we have maintained the tradition.
- October 3
- Our one-year anniversary. Housecleaning, paper
pop-up invitations, the whole nine yards. Twenty-three guests show up
for our most elaborate dinner ever

- Recovery. A nice, simple meal of fresh bread,
mixed-squash soup, and mushroom risotto.

- Waga-yo-mama. Fresh ramen prepared in the style
of the expatriate Japanese naughty-child restaurant in London.

- Max saves us from a potential post-holiday
disaster by hosting our 65th consecutive dinner. A hearty winter
repast of shepard's pie fended off the bitter Cambridge chill.

- Mediterranian menu: Olives, cheese, bread, olive
oil, prosuitto, melon.

- Corn chowder and sesame breadsticks.

- A celebration of the Chinese new year, featuring
too many dumplings.

- Taco party! Broiled chicken, classic black beans
and chipotle peppers, our new homebrew and a variety of
south-of-the-border brews.

- Cold winter day. Root-vegetable stew and fresh
whole-wheat bread.

- Red lentil soup with spinach, tandoori-spiced
tofu, raita, butternut homefries, and
ice cream cake.

- Church-style pancake breakfast for Mardi Gras.

- In honor of the snowstorm and in memory of the
Blizzard of '78, we dine entirely under candlelight and battery-power
for the Blackout Dinner (pasta & sauce, bread, fried chick peas, ice
cream, lime-chocolate bars).
