How A God Dug a Hole   Once a god dug a hole the size of a village. Then he filled the hole with thoughts so hard, the hole seethed. Yellow smoke rose up, bearing a stench that desolated the woodland. And the lonelier the woodland became, the harsher were the thoughts of the god. One day, as the god stared into the hole, he saw another god staring back, his eyes yellow as the smoke and breath foul as the stench from the rotting woods.   Leave my hole to me, said the god. This is my desolation.   Leave my hole to me, replied the new god. This is my desolation.   Who are you? asked the first god.   Who are you? came the reply.   And that is why the worst desolation is being caught between two mirrors.
