How A God Met The Black Wind
One day a god watched as a black wind whirled
across the horizon, sucking up everything in its path.
Stop, said the god.You are destroying the horizon.
Soon there will be no difference between Earth and Sky.
We will have no place to walk.
People will have no place to look for us.
It is my nature to destroy, said the wind.
I shall do the same to you if you do not step aside.
With that the Black Wind hurled itself upon the god,
but the god did not step aside.
Instead he opened wide his mouth and swallowed the wind,
holding his breath until it stopped thrashing inside him.
Then he slowly let out his breath.
A tiny puff of air crept out of his mouth
and beat gently against the surface of a nearby pond.
Then the pond turned to glass again.
And that is why every wind ends in silence.
