Peach Eden (2011)

I lean on the banister at sunset,
Looking for Eden’s peach tree,
Whose flowers fall lightly to earth,
And not on waters that flow out to sea.

The old hermit can still write,
With a quiet fervor unknown.
What's been keeping you so young? You ask.
Flying across the long sky like a bird alone.

By chance I stumbled on a grain of truth,
And it sprouts equations from fresh chromatin.
All around dead fish cling to the dry beach,
Unaware that a tide is coming in.

The Universe (2012)

White Monkey stumbled into a sacred cave,
Copied the strange characters on the left wall,
And beat a hasty retreat, when clouds moved in,
Leaving the secret of Creation on the right wall.

I glimpsed at the truth in a wax-sealed slip,
Unraveled 'n unfurled, revealing equations
Whose depth and scope seem to befuddle
Learned scholars of classical citations.

Telescopes peer deep into space,
Revealing God's great design, as angels knew it:
That Law and Vacuum rose together, and
Dark 'n bright matter co-move, in a superfluid.

Chance Meeting with C.N. Yang in Hsin Chu (2013)

A chance meeting rekindles the past, when
On our heads nary a white hair was found,
By the bright window in your office in Princeton,
Or in a small boat sailing upon Long Island Sound.
In the fondest dreams gauge fields mediate,
And on the blackboard supercurrents abound.
The steel edge of Reason glitters still,
As when we were able-bodied, and made the round.

The hero disappears from the field,
And into the mist the past follows.
Fame has reached its apex,
While life has taken its tolls.
From the Southwest where youth flowered,
To the Northeast where thoughts repose,
What marks were left for the ages?
The hearts knows! The heart knows!
