Jed Goldstone

I am currently a Research Specialist working with John Stegeman at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

I am interested in the evolution and function of cytochromes P450 ("CYPs"), especially the roles that CYPs play in toxicology and the production of oxidative stress. I am also generally interested in and working on the roles that reactive oxygen species (ROS: superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, and hydroxyl radical) play in aquatic and biological systems. These roles include interactions with redox-active nutrient and toxic trace metals (Fe, Cu, Cr), photochemical and biological production of ROS, and biological mechanisms and consequences of internal and external ROS production.

Note: we are hosting the 10th International Symposium on Cytochrome P450 Biodiversity and Biotechnology in Woods Hole October 3-7, 2010. test
