was a principal investigator, developing a sensor to detect a life form on Mars.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>As I became more involved in managing an organization as well as in science and engineering projects, I became interested in the economics of science and technology and, more specifically, <i style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>how information technology has changed innovation</i>.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>I decided to pursue a second PhD at MIT with Erik Brynjolfsson, a leading scholar in the economics of information technology.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>Since then I have enjoyed learning the economics of science and technology.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>In addition to learning economics, I enjoy playing tennis.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>My dream is to write a paper included in every PhD seminar on the economics of technology and to attain the level of <a information technology (IT) affects the diffusion of ideas using micro-level data.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>As IT has lowered the cost of publishing to almost zero, scholarly ideas diffuse through working papers, blogs, twitters, and many forms other than refereed journals.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>Online open repositories of research articles such as arXiv.org and Social Science Research Network (SSRN) provide free access to unpublished and published manuscripts.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>I assess the effect of free access, quality, early viewership, and various filters on the diffusion of scholarly ideas.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>Another research focus examines how well firms collecting and using data for their business decisions perform and <span class=GramE>pay</span> their top managers.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>As we experience massive accumulations of digital data, firms leveraging the data perform and pay their top managers differently.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>Using a survey of over 350 firms in different industries and instrument variables methods, I estimate the effect of the
