Absurd question: life on earth has adapted to some fairly harsh
conditions, eg: micro-organisms in the mouths of active
volcanoes etc. Might it be possible to genetically engineer life
which was capable of withstanding the conditions of outer-space?
With a view ultimately to creating human beings (however bizarre)
capable of withstanding such conditions?
