Last year, I studied the effects of ENSO (El Nino/Southern
Oscillation) on Massachusetts weather, particularly that of
Worcester, Ma. The three areas I looked into were average
monthly temperature, precipitation, and snowfall. I divided the
years from 1950 onward into 3 classifications -- El Nino years,
La Nina years, and neutral (or normal) years. This year, I plan
to continue my project. It was brought to my attention that I
had to prove that there actually was a relation between the ENSO
cycle and Massachusetts weather. In order to do this, I would
probably have to create some sort of computer model, but I know
this would be extremely complicated. I wanted to know if there
was some way of showing this corrolation using a simpler method.
Any help would be appreciated. If you want to look at Phase I of
my project, e-mail me at Omega757@aol.com, and I can send you
the info. I hope to get some sort of response soon. Thank you.
