Redesigning Passenger Airplanes
Existing planes divide the cylindrical fuselage in half, with the
luggage in the bottom and the passengers on the top. Why not put the
luggage on the top and the seats on the bottom, and then stagger the
seats up the curved sides of the plane, like in a trireme? There'd be
ore elbow room, easier accessibility for stewardesses, and a better
view of the ground for people with window seats.
