Purpose of the Subcommittee
To identify, explore potential synergies, and develop mutually productive working relationships with groups potentially interested in collaborating with DNE to develop or own a long-term site.

Composition of Subcommittee
Paul Freundlich (chair dbqa47a@prodigy.com); Andy Towlen (ACTOWLEN@AOL.COM), Tamarind Josbeck

Process and Timeline
  1. Prepare a one page description of DNE and what we are looking for. [now]
  2. Identify possible groups. [beginning as soon as approval received thru January]
  3. Have a preliminary conversation to Identify needs and resources of groups. [December, January, February]
  4. In situations which seem productive, develop scenarios which allow us to work together. [February, March, April]
  5. Keep the Committee aware of likely opportunities. [ongoing]
  6. Bring proposals for partnering to Committee. [by beginning of May]

Criteria for Potential Partners
The bottom line is the ability and desire to commit resources to a shared site. What are they looking for? Are their space needs similar enough to make for a useful match? How large is their resource base in terms of money, expertise and labor?

The top line is reasonable compatability around issues which are important to DNE. Those issues include a sense of spirit and joy related to human expression; respect for human diversity, community, cooperation and the natural environment.

Reality checks will be needed at an early point to understand a group's decision-making process, and the extent to which the representatives we may be dealing with speak for the group and their resources.
