David Burbach received his PhD from MIT's Department of Political Science in September, 2003. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at the MIT Security Studies Program.

Dr. Burbach's research focusses on the domestic politics of US foreign policy, particularly on public opinion and presidential decision making for war and peace. His background includes international relations and foreign policy, particularly in the areas of national security and defense policy. He has taught courses on U.S. Foreign Policy, American National Security Policy, and Environmental Policy.

To these substantive interests, Mr. Burbach brings analytical skills including advanced statistical techniques, game theory, modelling and simulation, and qualitative case study research.

Dr. Burbach's research and teaching experience are complemented by successful work experience at leading "think-tanks", as well as professional positions in the information technology field.

Dr. Burbach currently lives in Milford, New Hampshire.
