Description : I was riding along the dirt trail through the woods, and this flew across my path. I stopped, got out the camera, and followed on foot, and it miraculously let me get close to it, on about the fifth time it landed to fan its wings.

I think it's a Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele) based on the habitat, but I'm having trouble distinguishing that from the Aphrodite Fritillary.

I don't remember exactly how large it was, but it struck me as quite large.
