Brian T. Sniffen

I'm a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, majoring in Computer Science. I'm an officer of the Croquet Club and the Campus Crusade for Cthulhu, a member of the Executive Board of the Association of Student Activities, and a member of the Assassin's Guild, the Science Fiction Society, and the Amateur Radio Society.

I'm looking for a job right now, particularly in the fields of Network Security and Natural Language Processing. My resume is online in both PostScript, Acrobat PDF, HTML and text formats. Also, a paper on compromising network hosts using specialized kernel modules and little-used network protocols I co-wrote for my last year's Security class is available.

I've just submitted a thesis on Trust Economies in the Free Haven Project (PS, PDF). The Free Haven Project is a distributed anonymous data haven: a way of anonymously storing and retrieving files. It's designed to encourage free speech in places where that's currently difficult, and to remove the repercussions for being associated with unpopular ideas.

I'm moving in this month with Eddy Karat, Alex Andersson, Justin Stamen, and Dawn Nekorchuk. Some maps of our new house at 180 Larch St. are available:
