                 Hello and welcome to my virtual abode! A few web pages are scantily enough to put down interesting stuff about one person so my attempt shall be to present a more holistic picture than a detailed one.

 

                 I hail from  the state of Rajasthan in India though my family currently resides in a small town called Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, India. If you are from India you might realize what a drastic geographic and ethnic change that can amount to. I did my schooling partly in Hyderabad and partly in Guntur after which I attended college at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. In August 2008 I made my way to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for a doctorate in chemical engineering whose pursuit employs me currently.

 

                 Some of the things that I am passionate about are math,  music, writing, movies and cooking and these shall in all probability form a large part of the content on this site. Math, I guess is “part of the genes” because I hail from a family of extremely stingy accountants (read Marwaris). The addiction to music and movies was always there but I owe it to the “downloaders” at IIT Bombay for letting me nurture that interest and take it to another level. Cooking is something that was always a mystery to me until I was forced to cook my own meals. A few trials later I realized what fun I had been missing all these years. Believe me, there is nothing like watching a delicious meal cook while you soak in the aroma, the texture and the sight . More on this later. Coming to reading and writing, these were things that caught my attention pretty late but have kept me hooked ever since. The reasons I like some works and why I write the way I do are sometimes not very clear, even to me. This is probably because I haven't yet learned the art of dissecting one’s emotions. Since I have already started digressing, it shall be best if I stop here and let you look around.
